Permanent Make-Up

Permanent Make-up, is a procedure applyling pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. This state of the art procedure has been performed for a variety of make-up enhancements at Sheila's Day Spa and Laser Centre for over 28 years. Cosmetic tatooing can offer subtle encouragement and enhances upper and lower eyeliners, and eyebrows. In more recent years, this technique has been used to perform camouflage therapy such as creating the illusion of areolas and nipple restoration, vitiligo, hypo-pigmentation, and hairline scars. We specialize in creating eyebrows just the way you like them.

Permanent Make-Up

How is it Done?
Sheila's Day Spa and Laser Centre uses a state-of-the-art, Swedish permanent make-up system. Sterilized, disposable needles are used to implant desired color into the dermis layer.

Is it painful?
Highly effective topical anesthetics are applied to the area to numb and provide comfort to ensure a perfect procedure. Depending on which anesthetics are used, generally there is minimal, if any, discomfort.

Will I need a patch test?
A patch test may be performed at the time of the digital skin assessment to assess for allergies and/or color match. This patch test is simple and is done either on the scalp, behind the ear, or directly over the area to be tattooed if color matching is in question. This will help ensure that their is no allergic reaction to the product.

What is involved in the healing and post-treatment care?
There is some redness and slight swelling immediately following the procedure. This disappears quickly after the procedure. Applying ice is helpful for some people. Applying petroleum jelly for 5-7 days after the procedure is critical to keep the area moist.

Will I need more than one appointment?
Yes, the second appointment will perfect and detail the final look. As the years pass, re-enhancements or maintenance may be desired for some people.

What is the pigment composed of?
Pigments are made of mineral, ironoxide-based colorants. These colorants and dispersing solutions are FDA, Food, Drug, and Cosmetic approved.

Who performs these procures?
